A Gentle Guide Before Your Treatment
A little preparation before your appointment can make all the difference - helping your skin respond beautifully and ensuring you gain the very best from your time with me.
Here are a few gentle notes to guide you before your visit.
-
Keeping Your Skin Well Hydrated
Hydrated skin responds more positively to treatment.
Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment will help support your skin from within, allowing it to feel more receptive, calm and radiant.

Be Mindful of Sun Exposure
If your skin is sunburned, sensitised or you have recently used tanning products, please let me know before your treatment.
This is especially important for treatments such as laser or advanced blemish removal, where your skin needs to be in a settled, healthy condition.
-
Injectable Treatments
If you have recently had Botox or dermal fillers, it is best to allow time for these to settle before having certain skin treatments.
If you are unsure, I am always happy to guide you on the most appropriate timing.
-
Hair Removal
Please avoid waxing, threading, electrolysis or shaving the face immediately before your appointment, as this can leave the skin more sensitive than usual.
Allowing a little time beforehand helps ensure your skin remains calm, comfortable and well-prepared.
-
Active Skincare
If you are using retinols, AHAs or BHAs, I recommend pausing these for a few days prior to your appointment.
This helps to reduce sensitivity and ensures your skin is in its best condition for treatment.
-
Keep Makeup Light
Arriving with minimal or no makeup is always helpful, although not essential.
It allows me to clearly assess your skin and begin your treatment with ease.
-
Hair Appointments
If you are planning to have your hair coloured, it is best to avoid scheduling it immediately before your facial treatment, particularly if there may be tint around the hairline.
-
Your Usual Routine
Please continue with your normal skincare routine (excluding retinols) in the days leading up to your appointment, avoiding any deep exfoliation on the day itself.
-
Arriving for Your Appointment
Please aim to arrive on time, allowing yourself a moment to settle before we begin.
Waterside Aesthetics is a private, appointment-only clinic, creating a calm and uninterrupted space for your treatment.
To help maintain this peaceful environment, I kindly ask that mobile phones are kept on silent, allowing this time to be entirely yours.
-
Come As You Are
Comfortable clothing is always best, allowing easy access to the neck and décolleté area where needed.
Jewellery can be removed before your treatment to ensure your comfort and allow the treatment to flow uninterrupted.
-
Take a Moment for Yourself
If you can, allow yourself a little quiet time before you arrive.
Arriving relaxed helps both you and your skin settle more quickly into the treatment, allowing you to fully enjoy the experience.
-
Your Skin at Home
The results we achieve together don’t begin and end in the treatment room.
Using your recommended homecare consistently allows you to continue supporting your skin every day, almost like giving yourself a little facial morning and evening.
Together, we work as a team, combining professional treatments with the right skincare at home to achieve the very best results for your skin.
-
Don’t be shy, Just Ask
Please don’t ever feel unsure or hesitant - if you have any questions or concerns before your appointment, I am always here to help.
A Gentle Closing
Every treatment is designed to support your skin in a thoughtful and considered way.
Preparing gently beforehand allows your skin to receive the full benefit, so you leave feeling calm, restored and beautifully cared for.
I look forward to being your partner in ‘Glow'
